Home Security: Build Protection in Layers
Good household security is less about one gadget and more about reducing obvious vulnerabilities, improving detection, and having a plan for what happens next.
Start with an assessment
Walk the perimeter in daylight and after dark. Review entry doors, accessible windows, gates, lighting, visibility from the street, spare-key habits and whether valuable items are visible from outside.
Use multiple layers
Physical security, lighting, alarms or cameras, household routines and communication can complement each other. No single measure makes a home risk-free.
